When you lay under a tree
And look up,
What do you focus on?
Is it the sky, the clouds, the branches, the leaves?
Do you position yourself
In such a way
To see or to be hidden?
Do the sun’s rays catch your face
Or do the shadows grace your cheek?
Do you notice the air above
Or the ground below?
Are the bumps in the earth
Gentle discoveries of grass and clover
Or annoying knots to disrupt your peace?
When an ant crawls across your toe
Are you tickled or disturbed?
There’s no wrong answer.
You already made the right choice.
Nature is what you need it to be,
If you allow it to be,
And allow yourself the space to be in it.
